And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. Colossians 1:18
It's all about Jesus
First, it's about the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the most wonderful person you will ever know. He is not only the Head of the church, He is our Savior, Lord, and dearest friend.
He came to the earth nearly 2000 years ago. He was born of a virgin, lived a human life among humans, was hailed as the Messiah, unjustly accused, condemned, and crucified. He rose from the dead and ascended into heaven where He lives now.
Why did Jesus come?
God so loved the world
That is why Jesus came to earth, to make the way for us to come to know Him.
We are the people, the world, that he loves and died for.

All of us are different, unique, and precious to God. So precious, in fact, that he thought we were worth the price of His own Son. We could not know God, live the life He knows is best, or know with certain confidence what will happen to us when we die. This is because we are all marred by the inborn defect of rebellion against God which appears in many ways. Some try to be very good, some have great failures; none of us is perfect. Because God is perfect, He wanted us to be healed of this terrible defect called sin. He wanted us to be as He is, perfect, so we could know Him. The only way this could happen is if someone could wash away our wrong. So God sent His Son, Jesus Christ.
